Piety Runhaar
Wageningen University
Title: "An Ecological Perspective on People Management"
​
Piet Runhaar is affiliated with the chair group of Education and learning sciences of Wageningen University. Her research focuses on improving the abilities, motivation an opportunities of teachers and teams to perform well. Research contexts vary from schools in primary education to institutes for higher education. In her research Piety integrates different theoretical perspectives, such as social and organizational theories and theories derived from HRM and educational sciences. Piety coordinates the teacher training program of Wageningen University and has long been working as consultant in the past. Due to the various roles (i.e. researcher, teacher, teacher educator, trainer, consultant) she fulfilled in different educational settings, she developed a broad view on her research topic, encompassing the different layers in the educational system and the interdependence among these.
Melissa Tuytens
Ghent University
Title: "Professional Learning in Networks"
​
Melissa Tuytens is a member of the research group Policy and Leadership in Education (BELLON) of the Department of Educational sciences at Ghent University. This research group has a research tradition concerning school leadership, educational policy, school policy and HRM in education, which includes recruitment and selection, teacher assignment, teacher evaluation, professional development, stimulating teacher wellbeing. Central in her research are mixed methods including quantitative, qualitative and social network methodology. On the teaching side, Melissa is also engaged within the Bachelor and Master of Educational sciences, as well as and the teacher education program.
